Homeless Creative Arts – Grit Uplifted

Grit Uplifted

Are you homeless or were you once homeless? Do you write or make art? The Grit Uplifted Writing Group is looking for original poetry, stories, visual art and photographs for its first Grit Uplifted Creative Arts and Writing Magazine.

Writing can be in any genre, no longer than one page typed or legibly handwritten, and can be emailed to or dropped off in person to Kelly Bradley at the London InterCommunity Health Centre at 659 Dundas Street East, London.

Art (photographs, sketches, paintings etc.) must be submitted in electronic form and can be emailed to

If necessary, other arrangements can be made for them to get a copy of the artwork by contacting Kelly Bradley at

All submissions must include a title, the writer or artist’s name and the name that he or she wants the submission to be published under, as well as contact information, if applicable, for use by the organizers of the publication only.

The deadline for submissions is Friday May 1, 2011.

A special eventfor the launch of the magazine, which will include a public reading by the participants, is planned for early June. Details to be announced. Availability and distribution of the magazine will also be announced in June.
